was going for the cute pix....btw...TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU.
WE HAVE FAKE GRASS (SoCalif)... lovely to look at, NO WATERING & NO MAINTENANCE ...except for weed killer when the darn weeds pop up around the perimeter!!!
GET OFF MY LAWN!
I like clover. I understand its benefits. I donβt kill it. I also understand that once I grow in some St. Augustine I will start to trap the moisture, expand the St. Augustine, get rid of the weeds, consume the CO2, prevent the soil from blowing away, and cool the air. I have also planted many trees on my acreage. These too will provide benefits.
All things in moderation.
St. Augustine is the grass that has heavier stems and is not soft to sit on. Right? But I do know it is very very tough! It's a brute of a survivor. I remember it being very hardy. In California as a kid we had dicondera (sp) as a lawn. It is soft and pretty, delicate looking, probably the same family as clover. I have never seen it since. Anywhere.
I have so been wishing for a riding mower for my acre lately. Holy crap we are being taken over by the most freakishly huge foxtails.... but anyway.... this post with Trump out on the lawn reminds me of one of my very favorite Trump memes. A little boy is mowing the lawn at The White House and Trump walks out to visit with him and the first thing Trump says is, "You know that place, Greenland? Well, I'm buying it" (paraphrased) LOL so Trump!! I did want him to buy Greenland, it was an awesome, forward-thinking idea.
I know that it was my day as a dad. I, like many men around me, were mowing the lawns today. It was glorious. Having acreage and mowing it is pretty freaking cool.
I have an acre and no riding mower. As I already whined about. But you are so right, and that's what I want!
