I think you may be confused about what the definition of climate is. Climate is a long term, wide area environment that is more than a transitory phenomenon. Weather and impacts, like say, strip mining is transitory. It affects a small area quite adversely, but has very minimal effect on the planet as a whole. You concerns about anthropogenic climate change are understandable, however it is unwarranted. The data that has alarmed you has been specifically designed to cause you great concern, however the data you are hearing is falsified. The sea levels are not rising. The Antarctic would have to melt to cause a rise in sea level. If all the ice in the Arctic were to melt, the sea level would actually go down, not up. The ice in the Arctic is floating in the ocean. The ice in Antarctica is on a continent. When water freezes, it expands. When it melts, it shrinks in volume. Since the ice in the Antarctic is not melting, then the sea levels cannot rise. The water must come from somewhere. 12,500 years ago was the last ice age. No one really knows exactly how long the last ice age lasted for. There are educated guesses and some geological evidence, but nothing is certain. What we do know is that human beings had nothing to do with half the Earth being buried under ice. What we do know is that something changed and all that ice melted. That ice melting (on the land) created fjords, glacial deposits and the great lakes. It also caused approximately 400 feet of sea level rise. Do your remember how global climate change was killing the Great Barrier Reef off the coast of Australia? All the coral was dying and turning white? This was due to manmade climate change, remember? Have you heard about that poor dead reef lately? You should probably look that up. The concept of greenhouse gasses causing global climate to increase is probably a natural law right? Or maybe it is a theory that someone floated and now they preach it to the masses as gospel. The stuff they are selling is not worth buying. What you are talking about is pollution and destruction of the ecosystem. I whole heartedly believe in stopping that, but these are two very different topics. One is a real existential threat, the other is falsified data and propaganda to get you to panic and give up your rights as a human being so that other folks (the ones with beach houses, private jets and diesel powered yachts that burn more fuel than a small town uses.) Can save the planet for the future generations of slaves...I mean people.
Durf: "Climate is the long-term weather pattern in a region, typically averaged over 30 years."
