OK, it sounds kinda goodish to try to reform the too liberal churches.
However, I think what has been happening is that the liberal churches have been involved in the development of the Apostasy which is prophesied in the NT.
I attended a liberal mainline church with my parents when I was a child. No one ever told me the gospel. Not even my parents, who both attended seminary. I even knew quite a few Christians of various persuasions over the years, and while some of them wanted to recruit me to their church, none of those folks ever explained the gospel to me.
God's gospel involves gaining an understanding of the Person and finished work of Christ.
When my unsaved husband forced me to attend his church where he had received a false conversion, I decided to see if I could make a difference, since I didn't have much choice. The unsaved pastor opposed me when I tried to speak of the true gospel. He preached that the gospel I believed "used to be popular," but is not popular anymore. He was fine with me whenever I compromised myself in order to go along to get along, but he was in opposition to the truth, and I did not feel good about that. He also gave my stepdaughter a false conversion.
No one who believes a false gospel, which has some form of works based salvation mixed in (Jesus plus something the sinner performs), will gain entry to Heaven. The self-righteous do not enter the Kingdom, but only those whose righteousness is 100% the work and righteousness of Christ. That is God's standard.
"What can wash my sins away, nothing but the blood of Jesus," as the song goes. Liberals neither understand nor like hearing about the once-for-all blood sacrifice of the Lamb of God. My churchgoing mother said she did not like listening to sermons about "blood sacrifice." She thought that was old-fashioned.
But yeah, go for it! Just don't try to reform them all by yourself. You would need a team of dedicated believers.
its a demonic spirit at work. you should be equipped for spiritual warfare, which most christians aren't. the false doctrines- they love them, the demons that blind them hold fast to their hosts love of error. a common theme is "christians can't have demons"- when they're full of them. we look for people who are tired of the game being played, they're reachable because the fake church injures them.
I have noticed A LOT of Protestants, Lutherans and Methodists attending Catholic churches.
Luther tried to reform the RCC, which I think was the problem. No one can reform the RCC. I briefly attended a Lutheran church, where I was told infant water baptism "guarantees" salvation. Also I did not like their doctrine of consubstantiation. Then when I was told that the communion wine became "Jesus" when it was poured out, and turned back into "just wine" when it was returned to the fridge, I ran away. In the RCC, the priests have to drink up any leftover wine, because it "contains" Jesus' "actual blood."
Wesley's Methodists came from Church of England, which came from the RCC. I briefly attended a Catholic church with a Catholic friend, and I discovered the liturgy was almost exactly the same as the UMC of my childhood. The RCC just inserted stuff about the pope and Mary. My mother used to "double dip" on Sundays, attending both a Methodist church and a Lutheran, because, although she was a lifelong Methodist, she liked the Lutherans' liturgy. For myself, I stopped visiting the RCC when I researched their doctrine.
This is what God says about Rome:
Babylon the Great, Mother [church] of Harlot [churches] Revelation 17:
4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet color [clerical robes], and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls [RCC churches contain great riches], having a golden cup in her hand [cup used for mass] full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:
5 And upon her forehead was a name written, Mystery, Babylon The Great, The Mother Of Harlots And Abominations Of The Earth.
6 And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: [Rome killed a lot of true Christians and has never apologized for it.] and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.
Warning to Escape Babylon’s Judgment, Rev 18:
4 Then I heard another voice from heaven say:
“‘Come out of her, my people,’[b] so that you will not share in her sins, so that you will not receive any of her plagues; 5 for her sins are piled up to heaven, and God has remembered her crimes.
(She is slated for destruction.)
Yep. I like it. And lets do this.
