The left populists know that with the current setup they will never get in a "true" progressive candidate, only doddering pukes like Gropey Joe. The dems just throw their progressive base a bone or two on abortion and the gay/tranny stuff, but no real substantive policy initiatives. It would be like if the RNC installed Jeb or Romney as our nominee.

Add to that, a lot of the DNC base are old school progressives. Liberals who believe in free speech and care about issues like union jobs, civil rights, organic farming, universal healthcare, etc. If RFK gets screwed out of the nom despite a groundswell of support...well, that could be interesting.
