For a very crude airplane shape they could've used a logo inserter to do it much quicker than a 10 second delay. But then they would've needed to hide all the TV footage for a while at some point to patch it up with improved CGI. I saw something once that suggested that. But like Ian says, that could be clown trickery. I just wish we could talk about it objectively. Oh well...
