Sub was powered by a remote control from a computer game and CEO chose diversity over experience.

At least he was actually on it. Usually if people get killed because a Corporate guy made stupid choices. The Corporate guy doubles down on the stupid choices and blames everyone else.

He decided to bet. And bet poorly. But at least he was willing to gamble his own life instead of some other Schmuck who would have otherwise occupied the seat.
