Russian MoD put out multiple statements pertaining to Prigozhin.
Stating that Prigozhin’s claims of combat are untrue and “informational provocation”.
Urging Wagner leadership to stand down.
Meanwhile, Russian MoD continue operations in Ukraine.
What jumps out to me, is that Russian MoD and Russian State-sponsored media were very eager to tell us that Ukraine were using this provocation to push back in Artyomovsk/Bakhmut.
Almost urging Ukraine to make an attack.
To me, this looks like bait.
In conclusion, there is no civil war.
People are carrying on with their day-to-day lives as usual. Not a drop of blood has been spilled. Zero confirmed hostilities. Putin did not warn his citizens that they are in danger.
Either Prigozhin lost his mind, or he is conducting a psyop with Russian MoD to coax Ukraine into making a mistake, which they did, and Russian MoD were eager to report it, which is abnormal.
Until we see any conflict between MoD and Wagner, I lean towards psyop.
Could also be this....The Russian term маскировка (maskirovka) literally means masking. An early military meaning was camouflage, soon extended to battlefield masking using smoke and other methods of screening. From there it came to have the broader meaning of military deception, widening to include denial and deception...
