Just seems odd. I'm a rancher and I know when the cows have ran out of grass to graze on I open a "gate" so they can move onto the next field to graze in. Are they referring to us a cattle? Are they simply giving us some new field to munch on with our heads down, and these words are the signal for new shit to feed us.

It was a very minor thing in retrospect, and LBJ had certainly engaged in much worse.
