Ha! The wife (Bellevue girl) of a buddy of mine threatened divorce if they didn't move after Renton expanded its city limits up to New Castle. She refused to use "Renton" in her address. He convinced her the two of them would Make Renton Great Again (paraphrased from DJT). They're still there.
Oh wow, this crazy. My parents owned 5 acres between 47th and 51st. We went to St. Paul's grade school. My dad had the plans all made to build house, bulldozer to show on a Monday when King County showed up the Friday before issuing a stop-work-order. They literally built Ryan Way right through what would have been the basement of the house dad was going to build. They, being originally from South Dakota, said f-it and moved 100 miles south near Mt. St. Helen's / Winlock / Toledo. You probably drove through "our basement" many times. What a small world. (It was Empire Way back then. We used to take our horse down to the building of I-5 for an outstanding full gallop on the packed dirt, it was a blast until we got caught.)

I have to admit, I got lost my last time there.
