The SCOTUS rulings were based on cases from Harvard and UNC. These will likely be generalized across higher education. Where will this leave the acolytes of DEI, especially in the public space such as schools and governments? Can the ruling be further generalized across society in all aspects? For example racial statistical management of hiring and promotion policies.
Appreciate legal and impact analyses
can we pay back all of the smart white kids who worked hard in school and who did not get scholarships because they had to be awarded to a local black, who did not do as well in school? It happened in my family!
you mean, kinda, sorta.....reparations? Undergrad, Law School, Med School, MBA, military academies
How about the patients who have suffered because of sub-standard medical care, or the clients who were poorly represented in court, or the pilots or ships captains who wreck their vessels.
Effects are multi-layered
And the all-smart Asian kids got screwed as well.
Might this apply to the trans rights elevation in public schools?
It happened to me when I was in high school, good friend of mine was black and got into BC but I did not, though I was a 3 sport varsity athlete (he did 1 sport) and was top 5% of class (he was top 10%)
We joked about it at the time and he knew why he got in. Still makes me annoyed though that it was so blatant.
