Those 'Islam' backed groups (think ISIS, for example) were something else - i.e. Western dominance over OIL fields - or Opium, in the case of the Mujahedeen. Also note that the Taliban (translates as students - the movement started in the Universities) were othered for banning Opium- growing, until USA entered Afghanistan and re-established the poppy fields. But muh ebil Islam, I am sure - we laberal Wasterners NEED opium.

I don't agree with a lot of what Islam is, because I was brought up, and remain, a Christian. So, even as the Quran, in my opinion, is the Bible and Torah, rewritten, the origins of those texts are the same - the former is to suit more war-like tribes (and yes - Inb4 I am aware of Mohammed's proclivity for marrying his 9-year old cousin - and that has had some weird ramifications for interbreeding).

I have lived in Islamic countries, whether Arab or otherwise, and most of the common people there, are more polite than most so-called Christians. I have felt more affinity to such people than the brash Americans that I went to prep-school and university with, in the USA. (some of those kids were children of Senators and Hollywood film-stars, even shady South American (cartel? ex-nazi?) families, and they were decidedly NOT nice).

If one does not drink in public (I don't), or wear clothes that reveal too much skin - (why would you, really? loose long clothes and head coverings are more comfortable in hot, beating sunshine - only mad dogs and Englishmen don't cover their skin), life in Islamic cultures is clean and very normal - but really dress-codes and behavior are cultural, not enforced - as the propaganda merchants are continuously trying to shove down our throats (think: images of women all cocooned-up accompanied by outrageous headlines stating that some hapless country MUST liberalize - it was only a hundred years ago that Catholic Italian women were dressed head to foot in black - but I digress).

No, TBH, I reject the Islam/Christian/Jewish divisions that have ostensibly fueled recent wars, or for that matter, the communist/Western divides that are the same tactic in a different guise. In my opinion, Islam-hatred is a form of othering to keep our societies divided. I do not believe it for a second. Yes, (again inb4, there are weird subcultures such as the secretive Kazarians or the rabid Wahabi cults. But then, there are also the Christians who have Freemasonry groups that are completely off-color (and freemasons themselves have suffered in that respect as well). All of the religions have been subverted - not to mention the emerging Pagan/Satanist cults that are a reaction to all this nonsense. So to summarize, divides happen within each religion, IMO.

In restoring religion to its proper place, we must remain vigilant, by all means, but please don't fall into the trap of dividing us, i.e. we the people, into overly simplistic categories.

In any case, who are these "immigrants" who suddenly have access to Western munitions, ex-Ukraine, in France, to fire at the police? It's easy to point fingers at Islam, just as it is so easy to blame the Russians, just because ..., but how is that true? Prolly, the perps are God-less, corrupt and oligarch-funded arseholes, not driven by religion at all.
