Absolutely! We live in a redneck area full of pyromaniacs. Three days before they start, and continue a couple days after. New Year's Eve, too. They start at 8pm and go to 1am, probably two or three dozen houses all around us, a radius of about a half a mile. Not a moment's peace. Particles of the rockets are everywhere, and this is an arid area...
Equating something stupid like fireworks with "freedom" is a fool's errand...
It's fine having a twenty-minute show at a park where those who want to enjoy it can go, but allowing it in residential areas where people are trying to sleep, enjoy some peace, etc., not to mention the fire danger, is idiotic.
So, let me get this straight. "Freedom" is granted to a select few who disregard laws and local ordinances to set off fireworks, but taken away from law-abiding citizens who lose the peace and tranquility that should be their right?

To much freedom for you I guess.

Freedom is not up to govt to allow or not allow.
It's free.
