A few points:
Sound Of Freedom hasn't released yet, these are presales for the Fourth of July.
Indiana Jones was shown in 4600 theatres, likely with multiple screens, while SOF is only showing in 2600, likely with only a single screen each. This leads to a higher percentage of available seats being sold.
Projections have multiple factors, known franchises from major studios tend to perform better, thus being projected higher. Independent films, such as SOF, tend to have trouble achieving market penetration, and thus tend to project lower.
Factoring in ticket inflation, Indiana Jones lost 75% of those who went to see Crystal Skull, which had previously been considered a catastrophically low mark for the franchise.
Disney is artificially inflating their ticket sales via giveaways with Applebees.
Sound of Freedom was showing in select theaters on the 3rd. I know release date is the 4th but many have seen it already including me.
My local theater is showing SOF on 2 screens for a total of 7 starting times today. I dont know if its 7 total showings or if the two screens have a couple starting times that are concurrent.
Since starting times with multiple screens are staggered, it's likely seven total split between the two screens, all while counting as one location. Also worth mentioning, the theater I have saved for when I go has gone from four times to six, timed such to be two screens, and since Indiana Jones lost a bunch of time slots, that's likely where the screen came from. Which is actually kind of cool.
