$10m vs $60m Don’t get it… because of production cost?
Let’s put it this way, Indiana Jones cost 300 million to produce, and likely 175 million to advertise, and it has made 60 million on its opening weekend, which is a catastrophic failure. The theatres will take half the cost of admission, and international sales the studio will get even less of a cut.
The sound of freedom likely cost as much as what Disney spent on feeding the cast and crew of Indiana Jones.
For reference, little mermaid cost $250M to produce and they claim $150M on advertising (I bet it’s closer to $200M). That piece of hot garbage made only $280M leaving Disney to holding a pretty hefty bag of shit. Lots of flops from Disney this year
