I never do this. But recently it feels like the whole world is falling all over me. My husband had a bunch of strokes last year which have rendered him disabled in several ways, one of the most prevalent being dementia/ amnesia. Think 50 First Dates. Because of that, i cant work. I have to be here for him most hours of the day. We've had no luck so far with disability, and now the hospital is after us for what his insurance didn't cover. Even paying our monthly bills is getting near impossible. So i guess I'm asking, if anyone has a moment, could you please put a prayer in for us? Life is tough already. It seems like it's worse every day. He's a ghost of the man I once knew, and now I have very little ability to pay for our very humble life. Not praying for a million bucks, just a chance to stay in the home we raised our kids and got married in, and the ability to keep the lights on. Thank you, and God bless.

🙂 Pie is a good sweet to skew the carbs toward fat, since most of the calories are as the fat part of the crust. Dementia patients do like sweets, like ice cream which besides not being very nourishing often has additives that cause problems. You can make substitutes by blending fruit like bananas or strawberries with milk powder and ice--lots of recipes out there. The point of increasing fat is to provide more energy to the brain. As to the insurance companies and Medicaid, they don't want to pay, they also don't want to incur costs in nagging you. Every letter or call is taking some employee's time and that is reducing their return. Maybe you will find a way to use this financial fact. God bless.
Thank you. Also I've noticed chocolate has become a thing. He always hated it. Since the strokes, he craves it all the time.
There is also quite a bit of research of using and giving organic cold pressed coconut oil to help with dementia, meaning it either stops its progress, or gives back some functionality. Organic, cold pressed Coconut oil is also absolutely wonderful for the body in general, a great healer.
You can cook with it, and then also take it orally up to twice a day a tablespoon each time. But you have to start small(1 tsp) and work your way up to that. He may feel a little poorly as the healing effects of the oil kill bad bacteria and candida overgrowth, which may be the result of his cravings. He may have a gut imbalance due to the stroke.
In any case it’s worth a try, it may help with his cravings, and dementia, and overall health. God bless you and your struggles, I am so sorry and have been praying for you. I’m glad you shared all of this with us, I hope it’s making you feel better.
