I would definitely be home schooling my children if they were still in school these days.
So... would you be indifferent to your property taxes being weaponized in the schools in your area, or would you also be fighting these bastards at school board meetings?
sounds like a cop out to think merely homeschooling is going to fix the problem
I wasn't implying that home schooling was the only solution. I understand that home schooling isn't an option for everyone, and that there is definitely a multi pronged approach needed here.
First, the federal Department of Education needs to be dismantled. Then, yes, state and local school boards/administrations need to be overhauled and taken over by responsible fiscal and social conservatives. For those who can swing it, home schooling is still the best option to ensure that some whack job teacher, whose goal is indoctrination instead of education, won't be having any effect on their children.
Fortunately, we live in a mostly rural, conservative county, and the schools my children went to were relatively safe. We kept an eye on everything they were being taught, and raised them in a way that our values were a suit of armor against any outside influences. When they went off to college, we told them "regurgitate what you need to in order to get good grades, but remember how you were raised." I'm proud to say that both of our children have voted for Trump, and are good, responsible people.
The clarification is appreciated because the 'just home school them' narrative is designed to cause division and never solve the problem.
