Besides this Miles guy being a big dusche I can see one point being missed...
He said this was at a matinee... with a sizable audience. Then proceeds to go on about the age of the audience with various comments. However, a matinee for a non-kid friendly movie is going to have a higher percentage of older people in the audience. It all felt very ad hominem by attacking the people watching as opposed to the content... or along with attacking the content. However, I know when I went last night at a 5:40 showing we went that early because it was hard to get tickets... anywhere around us in central TX. Theater was packed with all ages from young couples to old but mostly middle aged 30-50. I don't know what he was expecting... this is a serious topic and thus the audience is going to be a bit more serious about watching it... and for older folks that are engaged that means verbally and with gasps. It's like he pulled from normal folks comments that watched Cuties to fill some of his review... i'm sure he thought that film was profound. What a tool.
No one would listen to him any more and I heard he was suspended.
