Yeah, they aren’t always the best of the best on these bases. We need to stop holding them in such high regard. Half join because it’s either that or a life of crime.
We bought a rare car part on eBay in 2019 not knowing who the seller was. Turns out what we received was a scrap piece of metal absolutely not the car part we had hoped. After putting in a claim with eBay and contacting our bank to get our money back I did a deep dive on the seller. He had used the main gate at Pendleton as the selling/shipping address. Well, this guy was an idiot, I was able to find the year he graduated boot camp, his entire life on instagram, all the parts he’s claimed to have sold on instagram/eBay, his address off base (he’s moved apartments twice since he tried to rip us off) - his parents address in La Mesa and his job as a civilian at Pendleton.
I was going to put in a complaint with Pendleton when I discovered there are thousands of complaints against marines on the base and figured my fraud complaint would amount to nothing but put me on a list in the process.
If he hadn’t told me to fuck off I wouldn’t have cared as much about losing $800.
My whole cloth view of those who serve changed greatly since this piece of shit pulled this stunt. Also, that I’m not alone in the complaint department. Maybe on day when I become old and senile I’ll have a little fun with the fraudster who really made me fight both eBay and my bank as if I were the criminal. What’s the bumper sticker saying... paybacks a bitch!
Did you think 100% of military enlistees were clean and pure?
You take any population of 18-30 year old men, and there will be those who murder, rape, molest children, steal, etc
