Minor updates don’t change version numbers so something that’s around 2.7mb would be a patch of some sort. Not trying to be a buzzkill but it’s just the nature of numbering a versioned software
Yeah, the title doesn't hold water. iOS 17 is actively in beta and will be released this year.
This screenshot clearly is for some sort of security patch that was pushed to the code stream for the released 16.5. The last .1 indicates a security fix, the (c) means they had problems with two other builds:

I appreciate the sentiment but this is how software versioning works when only minor updates are provided.
One could argue the opposite: a few years back major version numbers would hardly ever update. Now we see a lot of companies increase the major version number every year. There are far less minor versions than there used to be.
How many programs will reach major version 17 next year? 🤔
