Trump doesn't need to step down to that level, he's already shown us and is telling us what he'll finish when he's back at the WH. The rest are all fighting for the second spot.
i get it but he's only leaving himself open to enemy fire by not doing debates and engaging in the process etc.
At the moment they can't touch him up where he is, so coming down to their level only represents risks. If this publicity actually causes anyone to start polling at a level they might grow into a threat Trump can always focus fire that person.
