Green Bees and God’s beauty please

As we were setting up our house and yard to host a retirement party for our two daughter’s father in law who is a friend of ours last Saturday, I was picking up fallen tree branches from the wind.

I happened by some loud buzzing in the yard near the kids play set we have out so I went to investigate the noise. As I got closer I noticed something beautiful that I had never seen before. The largest, most beautiful green bees. I wasn’t aware that there was even such a thing as green bees.

Suddenly I was made aware of how much of God’s wonders I have been missing because I was too busy or unaware to notice. How much we all tend to miss when we have our eyes closed, too busy focusing on ourselves and our own silly pathetic existence. When we lift up our eyes and focus them on Jesus, that all changes as He removes the scales and sweeps the clouds. If we simply reach out our hand and take His that Je is offering, we will never have to worry about weathering amy storm. We will see the beauty we have ling been missing.

I spent years wandering with a literal sense of everything in my world being dark and grey. I had accepted Jesus as my Saviour as a little girl, but though I had never rejected Him, I had no one to teach me so I remained spiritually immature and I battled serious depression for years. My mind was a tortured mess, a very scary place to be.

When I finally had a good teacher, my eyes were opened and the understanding I had ling been seeking came along with the wisdom and discernment I needed and the grey vanished.

Just like the movie Pleasantville, when color begins to sweep over a world of black and white people will see the beauty that has been hidden behind clouded eyes, ears and minds. When we redirect our focus to the things if God and seek His face, He allows us to see His ways and they are so much deeper and better than ours. Our pitiful existence is a worthless heap of dung without God. When we ask Jesus to be by our side and choose to walk with Him, we can weather any storm, fight battles with giants and win and recognize beauty we overlooked before.

Today, I see so many things God made that I never knew or understood before. I see His beauty, magnificence and His grace. I can see the evils I didn’t know were staring me right in the face. Too close for my dimmed down eyes to see. I also have Jesus right beside me, holding fast to me. With Him, I can weather any storm, fight any battle and come victorious.

I praise You Jesus, for You alone are worthy of praise. I am amazed at Your wonders, unworthy of Your amazing grace. I am thankful FOR ALL YOU Have done for me. For writing my name in Your book with Your seal. Thank You so much for humbling me. Now I bow before You and give You all of me. Take my life, use me for Your will and Your glory, use me to draw others close to You.

Ephesians 4:18 They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts.
