Nebraska schools have a PRIDE Pack program (backpacks with donated food)....for kids that they Suspect aren't getting enough food. And if the parents are providing enough food, and their kids are still coming home with them, and they say no to the PRIDE Packs, then they're looked at as child abusers. Parents get put in a bad spot regardless if they can feed their kids or not, because of these welfare programs.
There was a Korean elementary kid who brought kimchi to school because their family ate Korean food, and they came home from school with a note from their teacher, saying, Don't bring this smelly food anymore. But they eat the food, and it's a fuck of a lot healthier than the bullshit they feed our kids now for the school lunch programs. Long run, you're better off bringing a lunch without eating a fuck load of preservatives and unhealthy sources of carbs and fake soy meat.
Ohio gives kids breakfast lunch and a backpack of food to take home..
