"They are losing and there is no desire on the part of Western populations to send troops. Russia has no desire to escalate, only to free Ukraine from the clutches of the dark state and reveal those truths.

That's a great description, Ukraine being the kinetic battlefield in the broader information war. After 4 years of Trump they desperately needed a hot war to launder those defense budgets.
