He explained that he faced death before, during a violent Earthquake in Chile. I don't know why he is trying to cross the border illegally, though. Word is that that particular border into Hungary is particularly porous, with lots of illegal crossing points. Mind you, he prolly wants to take his motorcycle across as well, so maybe has to use a road.

He has his passport back so he intends to cross it legally and ask for political asylum. I'm really hoping they provide him that asylum else he will die in a Ukraine prison.
