GOD IS MY GUIDANCE
✝️ Scripture 🕊️
I was sitting on my back porch enjoying this beautiful day. A voice, or like I usually say, God said to me Mark 4:15, please share it.
I went to a Catholic Church for 58 years. We never read the Bible or studied the Bible. I don't have verses memorized.
I have been learning through a non denominational church how to read and study the Bible.
Verse:
Mark 4:15
New International Version
15 Some people are like seed along the path, where the word is sown. As soon as they hear it, Satan comes and takes away the word that was sown in them.
How appropriate in today's world.
God Bless.
You have done a great thing for yourself and the Lord. Now honor Him by following through and reading it faithfully, asking for His guidance and clarity as you read and then try to be a blessing to others by sharing the Good News with them.
Feel free to point others to those two linked documents that I had earlier in the thread - they give a lot of the history of how the New Age translations got perverted and the second document gives a few more examples of the missing verses, phrases and words. Suffice it to say, the devil and all those that he has confused are not ever going to help you find a better relationship with the Lord. They are ignorant of what is going on around them. Don't let their ignorance be your downfall.
It would also be best to find a church that uses the KJV from its pulpit. There you will at least be surrounded by Christians that have made a conscious choice to worship the Lord with the authentic/unadulterated Word of God - that can only help you in terms of fellowship and growth in your walk with Jesus.
In the meantime, may God richly bless you and your husband. I pray that the Lord will reward your step of faith with a stronger faith and strength to follow Him in your lives.
You can always DM (direct message) me and let me know how you are doing. I will be praying for you both. God bless you.
I have been reading the KJV Bible since I received it last Monday.
It has been slow going but I haven't given up.
I am reading Matthew.
Just wanted to let you know.
I am proud of you and what you are doing. You are honoring the Lord and He will bless you for it.
Do not let negative thoughts or "this is too difficult" to bog you down. Combine your daily reading with prayer asking the Lord to help you with the reading, understanding and stick-to-it-ness.
Find a church where they use the KJV and you will be surrounded by others that will be able to help encourage you too. God bless you. I am praying for you.
Thank you.
The only churches in the area using KJV are Catholic and I quit them after 58 years.
Friends of ours belong to a Baptist Church who still use KJV. We have attended there a few times. It is very small because it lost its youth. This is typical. It is a black church and they are very welcoming and very religious.
Our friends we met from there he is a deacon. He understands scripture and I talk to him about the Bible.
My husband and I became great friends with them and many others at the church.
Other than that I tried to find a non denominational church but they use NIV or ESV.
The size of the church should not matter - go there and become active in helping others (by soul-winning, community outreach, mid-week bible study, teaching Sunday school, etc). You'll soon find that being a blessing to others is actually a great way to receive a blessing as well.
The ethnicity of the congregation should not matter either. I know we always want people in the congregation to look like us but that is not necessary in the eyes of God (I know this cuz I attend a small Baptist church that is predominately Asian/Filipino). We all love the same Savior, read the same Bible and are going to the same home in heaven when we die.
You are much better off in a small, Black Baptist KJV bible church than you ever will be in a non-KJV, non-denominational church elsewhere. Sometimes non-denominational churches try too hard to appeal to everybody and they end up not appealing to the Lord. Guard your salvation and your walk with Jesus - do not let perceived niceties take precedence over more important things. I would never contaminate my walk with Jesus by attending a non-KJV church (you only have to do a cursory review of the omissions in other translations to see that they have perverted the Word of God). Do not partake in that apostacy unless you want to risk losing your part in the book of life. Certainly, the Catholic church is not recommended either for many reasons that are beyond the scope of this reply.
I hope and pray that God's will will be made known to you and your husband as you faithfully read the Bible and pray about it. God bless you.........MJ
Thank you.
