It does seem real but the way articles mention him makes it sound like he's one of the top financiers.

Turns out he's just someone that participated in the crowdfunding element of more than 6,600 people

Strange times we live in where pedes doubt the efforts of a movie like some freedom and we have to rely on Snopes for truth
