I went to the post office and demanded to be unsubscribed. They said they couldn't do it by law, but if I took down my mail box they would refuse to deliver my mail.

That is the crux of it, though.

We have a deal with the government. I obey your laws and pay taxes. In return you deliver order and safety from criminals.

Well, in most or all of our cities, government is purposefully NOT doing that.

So right now, for many or most of Americans, the deal has become a bad deal. Government is taking their money and imposing their will upon them, and in turn the government is refusing to protect them, and clearly threatening them.

Things are getting more and more unstable every day. And this is by design, not because of incompetence.
