Running for POTUS is a game attrition:

Basically, when you start, you have to be”in it to win it”

And that means a 50 state fight.

And what usually happens is we start with 10 candidates on each side in early primary states,

And by the 5th state, it has become a 2 person race on each side (dem/rep)

So, on the GOP side, how many candidates are there?

By the 5th state, how many candidates are left ? (4)

All a candidate has to do is commit himself to staying in for the duration,

and by the 10th state they will be 1 of (now 3) candidates left in the race.

The race is so long, that current events plays into elections.

So for example, lets say one day Donald Trump isn’t in the race anymore for some reason.

Then what?

Who else is left on the GOP side?

Its a wide open field, and DeSantis would have a fair chance at becoming GOP nominee.
