Currently the federal US govt "owns" and controls vast amounts of territory in the USA. Now, as we wake up, we are realizing that the country has been conquered by a foreign power in DC that has a stranglehold on our resources. When/how do the people regain our land?

If we fall for "voting is irrelevant" then we have already lost. Voting is NOT irrelevant, and never will be.
It's actually our next action. When\If they steal it again, they will be caught AGAIN. Which will provide us many options that do not seem to be available, Yet. That time is approaching quickly.
Prepare, we all have personal decisions to make concerning our actions going forward. Many of us already have, and are committed.
