God is present in every good thing, and there is much good in the world, there is no good in man himself, it all comes from God, to him we give all glory for every breath we take. I do not know why some come to consciousness of HIM, and others do not. That is a mystery to me. We all sin, mostly by choice, but we have a chance to be forgiven and amend, and sin no more. I do not think that this "age" is anymore sinful than past ages, it's just that Satans weapons have become more powerful , through media and culture and availability to more people, but the sins are the same. There is no danger for those who accept Jesus as Lord and the son of God, who is also one being with the Father. I refuse to be afraid, on a daily basis, and when it comes into my mind, I pray to reject it and remind myself. I don't think a physical church is needed for a religious practice, but it is like a school, to give us lessons in Faith through scripture, fellowship and praise, but to be the best student we have to do our homework. Pray daily, give thanks for your life, even adversity, because God will test our Faith. Pray, read the Scriptures, do not overthink them, but discuss with others of Faith. Take an inventory often, review it, educate yourself to the 7 deadly sins, practice the virtues. I learned a little saying, that EGO stands for " Easing God Out". Jesus Christ walks with us in the form of the Holy Spirit, while his body experienced a human and mortal death, HE has shown us that due to his sacrifice, for us, that he had power over Satan in his resurrection, and that we too will have that gift of resurrection with faith. Practice your Faith, just as you would practice a skill or a health regimen. Take your soul to the gym, read a psalm, give thanks as often as you remember, for a drink of water or a feast, for the hands that scrub and toil, and do it cheerfully, remember that God gives us everything, and HE does so without effort, so give thanks without effort, read his book without effort. Spend time with him and see it as a wonderful respite from daily toil. I refuse to be afraid. I am sad that innocents suffer, I am sad and angry sometimes, but he comforts me.
