It reminds me of one of my most-hated adages - "Go along to get along!" Even if someone in your family group or social group is doing something bad, everyone is supposed to look the other way, not say anything, "don't rock the boat" etc. It's just been extrapolated out into larger society.

It's in the same vein as "happy wife, happy life." This asskissing has given women massive egos and they think they know everything, and their idiotic ideas have brought this country to it's knees.
Avoiding headaches in the short term just creates a bigger problem you have to deal with later
Or you can do things on a case by case basis instead of feeling the need to have a slogan that you must abide. I understand the happy wife saying and yet at the same time I understand the take as well. Give and take. Also, don't marry someone with an ego they cannot control.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not the type that thinks women need to be dominated either. Just that you need to have a backbone, especially when it comes to raising your kids

This is not a free speech zone. It is a feel-good echo chamber. It has its purpose. But finding answers to questions is not one of them. Think of this place as a pep rally. The real game is elsewhere.
I agree completely. Question everything ....except for the shape of the earth or anything else the all knowing mods deem settled. Can you recommend another place that actually has freedom of thought and speech?
Alas, I too am in search of a haven for liberty of thought and word.
There was once such a place. Or as close to it as I could find. It was called FuckedCompany. Of course the libs and gov destroyed it.
I encourage my kids to ask as many questions as they can. To their teachers, family, friends etc.
Suggesting questions while waiting for suggested answers; tempts one to ignore being problem (life) within solution (inception towards death); hence ones struggle to resist being dissolved.
Instead try adapting to perceivable (inspiration), while utilizing implication (if/then)...no more waiting for answers from others; just learning/teaching self through consequences of ones choices.
a) QUEST implies towards suggested outcome; being implies in response to perceivable origin.
b) REASON represents conflict...quest vs answer; certitude vs doubt; does vs doesn't; for vs anti; is vs isn't; fact vs fabrication; yes vs no; true vs false; belief vs disbelief; us vs them; leftwing vs rightwing; democrat vs republican; pepsi vs coke; soccer vs football; mcdonalds vs burger king; winning vs losing; rich vs poor etc.
c) nature operates on implication (if/then); those within tempt each other to reason (want vs not want) over suggested.
