In hindsight. Letting investment firms rise period was a bad choice. Because your handing a comparatively small group power in the form of vast amounts of wealth. And no real limitations on how they can use it other then “Make more Money”.
It’s not surprising they’d begin networking and exercising their own agendas. I mean they were essentially handed the keys to the kingdom in the form of the money they commanded.
They own banks, businesses, military’s, governments. And we paid them to do it.
I wonder if that was part of the reasoning behind the push to eliminate and defund pension plans that was all the rage 20-30 years back.
Put more money into the firms in the form of 401Ks and other retirement plans.
