I am actually kind of sad for this, because it would be very nice to learn something about the south pole of the moon.
What caused this? Perhaps the engine didn't fire up again. It is typically the cause when something like this happens. Or they forgot to add the batteries, as happens to me often when I play KSP.
I dont believe that there ever was a luna 25. I dont believe there ever was an Indian craft racing the Russians to the moons South Pole. Why South Pole anyway? This entire narrative is comms. Big things are happening. It may involve Antarctica.

I am guessing they were trying to look at the forbidden areas on the moon. It is sad, but I think its not yet time for that
