Yacht fires are very common. Yachts have all kinds of explody stuff on them: diesel in the tanks for the boat, jerry cans of gasoline for the dinghies, propane tanks for the cooking, etc. Electrical things erode quickly in the harsh marine environment, particularly in the tropics, so electrical fires are also common. Plus, the new new rage is to install lithium ion batteries, and those are explody, too.
It's seams like an increase, I follow a YouTube channel on yachting and I've see a lot more fires lately. My dad had some smaller old boats on lake superior I'm well aware of the dangers of fire, a couple of them even had wood hulls.
It seems explosions have become common in all kinds of places (ie food processing plants). Whoever is behind all the explosions may be targeting yachts, too.
A yacht is pretty much a private island. Some of them may need to burn.
