Michigan is simply awesome in the winter. It is truly a winter wonderland. From the big snows of the lake effect snowbelts to the frozen shores and ice caves of the Great Lakes, its beauty is unmatched in wintertime.
I will admit by the end of February it is growing tedious but I wouldnt want to live anywhere else. If you havent been to Michigan and driven the scenic routes around the Lakes you are missing out. Where else can you witness a sunrise over the water in the morning and sunset in the evening?
Born in small town in thumb. Spent summer vacations fishing in Lake Huron & traveling to hunting cabin 50 miles west of Alpena. It is a wonderful state captured by commies.
The Black Hills of South Dakota are like that too. I moved there in the dead of winter and it was ice world. Of course that has it's drawbacks but it was what my soul needed.
uncle Ted isnt here now he has a place in Texas
Oh...I thought it was his winter retreat...Michigan can be nasty in winter.
