When I was very small I stood on high ground with my mom and sister and watched the ocean pull far out from the shore, uncovering the sea bed. Out and out. Then it began to rush back in in a tsumani. I was too scared to watch, I buried my face in my mother's skirt. To this day I can still see the tiny floral print of it.
