On some level, they know this, but it is just to terrifying to think about so they go on screaming at family members instead and refusing to listen to people trying to help them.
It's because they think or feel that admitting they're wrong makes them weak when instead it's the start of the path to enlightenment. Few can learn from other people's mistakes, some from their own mistakes, but most never learn anyway. I blame it on junk food, chlorinated water, the educational system, the MSM, and the politicisation of everything.
