Harry Potter normalizing witchcraft.
Milk carton kids normalizing missing children.
Sitcoms normalizing casual sex and sodomy.
small realization, we all knew this already. "incepting" ideas subliminally without anyone being the wiser.

What does brightly dyed hair normalize? I'm puzzled by that one.

While I don't disagree with the idea that Hollyweird is designed to manipulate society to have certain beliefs, the idea that this is new is not in any way supported by the evidence. I also do not think that you have correctly characterized the manipulations.
For example:
What is "witchcraft" but a belief about how the universe works, and rituals to affect it? Everyone has beliefs about how the universe works (cosmology) and employs ritual to affect it. Once you formalize those beliefs and rituals ("teach" them to others) it becomes a form of "witchcraft." Indeed, cosmology and ritual has been going on since the beginning of time. In the long ago time society had it's Shamans, or Priests, who "explained how the universe worked," and "used ritual to appease the gods" (or God, or Nature, etc.). EVERY SINGLE RELIGION has its cosmology and rituals, in that they all use ritual to "commune with god," or "create a new future," or "reaffirm beliefs" (which is itself a form of controlling reality by controlling beliefs about it). Indeed, what is "prayer" except a formal ritual that is designed to appeal to a higher power to alter the present or future?
Is "witchcraft" a bad thing. If indeed any of these rituals actually can affect the present/future then doing it is neither good nor bad. A thing is only "bad" if it infringes on another's rights. That is the definition of evil: "An act that directly infringes on another persons inalienable Rights."
Now not everyone will agree with that "definition," but I suggest any other definition is itself evil. For example, let's say that you believe that "casual sex" is evil. You then, being the arbiter of "what is good and evil" (even if you lay your justification on a "higher power") make laws that prohibit casual sex. You have now created a "limit" (it's really a false limit, but that's a different discussion), enforced through coercion (stated punishments for non-compliance), on people choosing their own path in life. This is exactly the type of legal infringement on another person's inalienable Rights that are considered "evil" by so many others.
I'll give you this one, but it goes beyond just "normalizing." It also makes it "fantasy," thus if we see it IRL it isn't something to worry about. That's basically normalizing, but it's a specific method of normalizing. Recognizing the type of manipulation is important in that it allows us to counter it.
This has been going on for thousands of years as well. Our society cycles back and forth on these things being "good" or "bad" specifically to create division (i.e. these cyclical beliefs are a contrivance of The Matrix). The Reality is, if you aren't harming anyone, you aren't harming anyone. You can do whatever you want if you aren't harming anyone. Anyone trying to control actions that cause no harm are themselves being evil (see above).
I agree completely that this is being done, but the specific things you have called out are not themselves the problem. Indeed, the beliefs against those things are also contrivances of The Matrix (largely pushed through Hollywierd manipulations). Both beliefs for, and beliefs against are created specifically to created division. THAT is the real manipulation. The creation of opposing beliefs to keep us divided; to keep us from appreciating the simple statement I made above, to wit:
If you aren't harming anyone you aren't harming anyone. Stop trying to harm people who aren't harming people by controlling their actions. Let's instead focus on where people are actually harming others in a direct manner. If we as a society focus on those things and stop worrying about actions that don't fall into that category, I suggest everything else will take care of itself.
Great catch!
