You don't have to pay taxes, if you have no income and have no property. You can be homeless and not file. If you have property or income, they will take it and put you in prison. If everyone stopped paying taxes, the entire tax funded infrastructure would collapse. Yes, there is tremendous fraud and waste in tax funded projects and organizations, however, I like knowing there are firefighters, police, border patrol and military and I would pay to support them with or without tax laws. You don't throw out the baby with the bathwater. We need a government enema at all levels. Clear the corruption, set massive penalties and put in checks and balances. I know that the original system had all federal taxes come from States and tariffs, and this is undoubtedly the right way to do it, the States can exercise more pressure on the federal government than us individuals. No need for the IRS and the federal government would have to answer to the States for all funding and all waste. On the downside, California and New York would have a lot more influence than they do now. Enema first, especially in the State governments.
