I was 18 when Alice Cooper was really famous with "Schools Out"
Nobody saw it back then as "Luciferian Symbolism"
If you wanted to get any credibility as a mainstream rock artiste you absolutely had to get into ridiculous levels of glam and shockery. He was competing for kids to buy his records against the likes of David Bowie and his ludicrous make-up and silver outfits bisexual act. I doubt the artistes even got a vote on what their record company told them was going to be printed onto their album covers.
Alice Cooper is 75 now so doesn't have to care anymore so can say what he really thinks. Kudos he didn't have to say it he could have stayed home with his money.
If I were him though I would feel bad that I had (even if unintentionally) enabled the door to open that little bit more for the real evil people.
