Inulin is a dietary fiber that a lot of gut microbiota rely on, they digest the fiber and produce short chain fatty acids that we absorb (so the whole thing about fiber being indigestible is not wholly accurate.) Supplementing with inulin at least once a day for a month has fixed a lot of my long-term digestive issues.
That's great. Can you share what form you take (powder or capsule or...) I think this would benefit my kids.
Powder is the cheapest, it's a small scoop only like 4g that I dissolve into the water that I'm drinking and it doesn't effect the flavor. Microingredients is the current brand I use, it's derived from artichokes and a 1kg bag lasts almost a year.
Thanks!
The more I read about small intestinal bacterial overgrowth and other gut microbiome issues, the more fascinated I become. A lot of health issues are very likely related to digestive issues, but we aren’t given remedies for the root cause because cures aren’t lucrative, treatments are.
