Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
Reposting the question since it did not get good sampling of answers last time:
I guess I want to have your opinion on this:
I am now receiving email solicitations from Trump's campaign offering official Mugshot merch in exchange for donations. They have quips like the following:
What is your take on making Trump mugshot merch and selling it? On one hand, the mug-shot is public domain by default, so there is no copyright issue here. On the other hand, it does look like we are greedily profiting off Trump's misery here for selfish gains, especially if we don't send a few bucks over to Trump afterward...
I am tempted to get Mark Dice's Trump mugshot shirt. I haven't even looked for an "official" one. I live in Japan and I tried to donate to the Stone Defense Fund when they were trying to throw Roger Stone in prison. It wouldn't let me because I don't live in America. So if I can't buy an official Trump one, I'll be happy to buy one from Mark Dice. I know he doesn't respect Qtards like us, but I like him, buy his books, and I own his "there are only two genders" T-shirt that is now a rarity.
I wear the Mark Dice Santa Trump shirt during Christmas season.
My T-shirt says:
WITH A BODY LIKE THIS
WHO NEEDS HAIR?
In general, I've never been a trend follower. If everyone wears a specific T-shirt, you can be certain that I'll wear something different.
But that's just me. And I'm not American. My take is this: if you want to support Trump financially, send money as direct as possible. If you want advertise the fact that you support Trump, by all means wear a T-shirt to express that. But I would use a different photo and/or wording. it shows that you are thinking and not blindly following the herd.
