Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
Does anybody have a good home remedy for a very bad case of ringing in the ears? It's gotten so bad over the past couple of days I can hardly hear. All I hear basically is ringing, swooshing, buzzing and the occasional gunshot/explosion. Thank ya'll.
There are a couple of youtube videos/audio that claim to "cure" tinnitus, but they don't.What they do is play sounds of trickling water over pebbles, it relieves it for a bit, gives the auditory nerves something else to "think" about. I've had it for a few years now, it sounds like summer locusts hissing, all year round. I guess I have gotten used to it, and read that it comes with my condition, MCAS Mast Cell Reactive Syndrome, its a common symptom. Nasal flushes with saline can help relieve pressure on the inner ear, but basically it has to do with the auditory nerve, not from any infection or mucus block. Ginko Biloba, Zinc, B12, Melatonin and Magnesium may help, as all of those help the nerves, according to my research. I am still trying to juggle the times I take my supplements, and my doctor has given me a long list of them, so , to be honest, it is a rare day I take all of these, scheduled with meals, on empty stomach, and all. There is more and more research being done regarding melatonin and its ability to heal nerve damage. It's not just for sleep anymore. My doc suggests nothing higher than 3mg at night.
Thank you
Have you looked at full spectrum CBD gummies? They are getting some positive press. My husband is taking a quality CBD oil as part of the Tippens protocol for his prostate cancer and it doesn't seem to have any adverse effects. Otherwise I am interested in looking for any other things that could help. We have never dealt with tinnitus...only vertigo...
No, I haven't yet. I'm going to on my next day off. There'd a cbd and Kratom shop up the road from the house. I'm wondering about the use of Kratom, I'm not to familiar with it.
My son used to sell it in a glass shop he worked in and said it came with good feedback. He never tried it though. Thank you
Never heard of Kratom....
I share your pain. It's called tinnitus. Look it up. It can be caused by aspirin, virus infection and many other things. Syringe your ears out with warm, soapy water. If that doesn't help, start researching. If you find a cure please let us know.
Thank you
