Hard to hide in my neck of the woods. At the moment there are two types of flu circulating in NZ at about equal measure. Influenza A and Influenza B. My family went and had both in the last two months. The difference, symptomatically is that A is accompanied by fever, and can be quite uncomfortable for a few days, but a healthy person will be out of the swamp after about a week. give another week for 'taking it easy'. That was the big deal in late May.
Influenza B does not have a fever, but persists. It is a classic case for people walking around 'feeling a bit off' and spreading it. No fever, is part of the problem. Just a bit hard to breathe due to accumulations of snot and the odd headache. But it persists. We are in week three, still battling with a waste-basket next to the bed and a vast grocery bill for tissues. It develops into secondary infections, also conjunctivitis, that can be painful, but the patient is quite capable to get up and sort of do stuff for the times between the snottering, even as it is exhausting. Certainly rules out hard physical labor.
LOL at the copious numbers of people who are just roughing it with aspirin and some bed rest. Just as the organization decided that they would phase out work-from-home. Call in and say "yeah all good to work from home, but snottering too much for the work-place". Do more work than a normal work-day (no interruptions), and also, Netflix and chill. Not so LoL at those ending up in hospital, because they were fat and struggling with asthma, and come into the office every day- and yes that is happening around us, too.
Oh and Ivermectin makes a huge difference.
