Coke's work with scientists was a 'low point' in public health history
A team of international researchers say the non-profit GEBN was 'front group' for Coca-Cola to promote that a lack of exercise, not a bad diet or sugar, is driving the US obesity epidemic.
My body loves red meat. I'm not going to tell others to have it or not.
As to sugar, I believe the closer to earth the better. Pure cane sugar, raw sugar, and honey for example, are fine with me. Obviously, they should be used in moderation, just like anything else.
The artificial sweeteners to me are death in a packet. I tried one and never again. I don't like chemical taste either. Same with gums, sodas, etc. It's not "right" for me. Before I quit soda, there was a comeback of "real sugar" sodas in a couple of old favorites. I could definitely taste the sugar differences.
There is more than just sugar problems with soda. Caffeine in many, empty calories, feeding the sugar/sweet addiction very easily, while getting no nutritional benefits.
Then they started talking cancers or other potential problems.. the fact that you can tenderize roast or clean a toilet with Coke. Yeah, no thanks..lol.
I didn't swallow the govs anti sugar run, just like I didnt swallow the govs anti egg run. I do my own research, make decisions based for my body and spread the word not to believe everything you hear!
Caffeine is a big one. I like milk tea and hot green tea but it taps out at about 60mg for a large serving. Some of my preferred smokier teas like hojicha and genmaicha have less than 30mg
But people out there drinking energy drinks and preworkout like crazy. Sure, a lot are thinner and more in "shape" visually than I am, but doing 300-600mg of caffeine per day PLUS the vaccines, I cannot even imagine the damage to their hearts and arteries
Those real sugar sodas are amazing though, and it is interesting how a small cup can really satisfy you or even help your digestion whereas people down massive amounts of the fake stuff. Even ginger ale and beer (which is great for sickness) is hard to find without HFCS (I hate corn syrup)
