I did it to find out if the family stories I heard were true, they were not. I grew up thinking I had some Seminole Indian blood, my gran told me that we were related to Horace Greely (we were) George M Cohan (we were) and Seminole Indian, that her grandmother was half Seminole, on her fathers side. She had a picture of an Indian Princess in her living room, an old black and white photo. I do not have a drop of native blood, pure northern irish with some Scots and English in the mix.! I told people for years that I was, they all agreed! I was not fair, chestnut hair and dark brown eyes, cheek bones to die for, a strange affinity for nature. Nope, it's all Celtic.

Supposedly, I was the same ethnicity as my adopted family, Polish, Jewish and Bohemian, and I really did want to find out my real ethnic roots (along with blood family). Who knows, now that I'm getting so old that it probably won't matter, I may, as yet, do it. 🤷♂️
My son has a friend who did it, he was conceived through artificial insemination, due to medical issues his Dad had, the young man found out he had 2 half siblings. I think if you have any medical procedures and that they are harvesting dna information, they already have it, so, I am glad I did it. It's a Grand Old Flag!
