I agree. Although, if they are using these, why aren't they using the kind that have the opacity and coloration to cover the electronics and mimic natural eye color?
Joe's are just solid black w/ red undertones over the entire iris and pupil which looks ghastly. Looking at the examples shown in your linked video, even with the largest display, we should still see some of his blue eye coloring showing through, but we don't.
