This event is held on a dried-up lake that intermittently floods. Can anyone 'read-the-tea-leaves' on how this was bound to happen? Even the three-eyed "dinosaur shrimp" in the lake bed have come to life.
Many years ago, I went to the Fiddler's Convention in Union Grove, NC. It was held on J. Pierce Van Hoy farm field until 1980. There were over 100 thousand people there. I recall it rained and it was a downpour of several inches of rain that fell. We (my buddies and I) were smart enough to park on the side of the road and walked in. The tens of thousands that drove their vehicles on to that field got stuck in mud....... I recall the locals were making an absolute fortune pulling all those vehicles out. They had all of them over a barrel and asked for a premium price to pull them out.
