I checked on https://burningman.org/event/preparation/playa-living/kids/ and yes, people do bring children to Burning Man. 12 & under get in free and the website says "Don't worry about your kids seeing naked people walking around. They get used to it." Uh, no.
Kids ought to be kept out for the same reason dogs are kept out (terrible conditions, loud music, corrosive soil, etc. etc.) but these people just love kids.

However, they adamantly refuse to allow dogs on site and insist it's for the safety of the dogs. Kids LOVE Burning Man so you should bring them! But no dogs. https://burningman.org/event/preparation/playa-living/pets/

Thank you for the insight. Adds to my point that it's always the children they don't want us to pay attention to.
