That grey squiggle you are referencing has in actual fact been cut and edited. Someone ran the footage through a software program, and found from (IIRC) frames 23 - 27 had been cut and reversed. The theory being that grey squiggle is in fact some type of exhaust gas from the incoming missile, so they swapped it to appear in front to confuse people.
If you actually impose a 757 into that video, at the correct scale, it is clearly not an aircraft that we are seeing.
